This is what the authorities promised...and we are watching

Will these officials from across Delhi-NCR really walk the talk?

This is what the authorities promised...and we are watching

GURGAON

April 11: Rohit Yadav, joint commissioner, MCG, on the poor condition of the road in South City I

“The area has not yet been handed over to us — the transfer is under way. Once the transfer is complete, we will start work on the road."

April 9: Rajender T Sharma, District and Town Planner, on the traffic disruption caused by encroachments in front of Hong Kong market

“We had acted sternly against these encroachments earlier and will take strict action against the violators if they are at it again."

NOIDA

April 13: Shishir Singh, ACEO of Noida Authority, on illegal construction in Amrapali Zodiac in Sector 120

“The Authority found illegal construction by the builder in Amrapali Zodiac in several places. The Authority has given the builder seven days to remove them otherwise it will demolish the illegal construction work.”

April 13: Rajendra Kumar, deputy director of horticulture, Noida Authority, on the sewer trenches dug opposite Exotica Fresco in Sector 137

"We have the approval for this development, we will forward the file for e-tendering. It will take about two months to develop the area once the contract is awarded. The master green belt will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh. The development will be carried out in a phased manner. In the first phase, we will level the area; in the second, we will plant grass and saplings.”

GHAZIABAD

April 10: Rajesh Kumar, SP Traffic of Ghaziabad, on shared autos driving on the wrong side down NH 24

"The traffic department has already deputed traffic personnel at the CISF intersection. The matter would be looked into and the movement of autos and other vehicles will be stopped soon."

April 9: Sudhir Sinha, president of the Supertech Livingston RWA, on releasing rules for pet owners living in societies that violate guidelines by Animal Welfare Board of India

"We are very liberal and tolerant people and these rules have only been laid out to garner people's opinion about them and to understand as to what they like and what they don't. These rules are in the drafting phase and nothing has been formally decided as yet. The RWA had to go ahead with the publishing the rules under pressure from residents of the society. The formation of a new AOA body is underway and the entire process will be reconsidered. There is a mob mentality in some residents who create unnecessary pressure against pet owners. Lack of awareness about pets and animals among residents is the main source of such trouble.”

EAST DELHI

April 11: Naresh Gautam, the PWD junior engineer in charge of the Mayur Vihar area, on the broken boundary wall near Manas Apartments

“There was some conflict between DMRC and PWD on this particular issue but that has been sorted out now. We are just waiting for the PWD head office to give a go-ahead on floating a tender. Construction work will start as soon as the tender is awarded.”

March 30: Sudhir Verma, a junior engineer of PWD, on the demolition of a police chowki that blocked a sewage drain

“Widening of a storm water drain has already begun. The portion of police chowki that had blocked the flow of sewage has been demolished. Moreover, a new storm water drain is under construction. The entire work will be complete in the next 15 days.”
