Residents of several societies participated in the celebration of the Assamese festival as a directory of people from the state living in Dwarka was also launched.
It was a special day for the residents of Pragjyotishpur Apartments, Sector 10, Dwarka, on April 14. The occasion was the Assamese festival Bihu and residents from several societies participated in the event.
Attired in traditional Assamese clothes, women and children left the audience enthralled with Bihu dance and folk songs of Assam. And that was not all! Apart from cultural programmes, women and girls also participated in a ramp walk.
Members of the society’s management were not far behind either. They performed with Pragjyotishpur Bihu Group on the stage and depicted a village in Assam during harvesting.
If you’re wondering why a society in Delhi celebrated a festival of Assam, it was because most of the residents in society are Assamese. The event also witnessed the launch of a directory of people from Assam living in Dwarka and its surrounding areas.
