In a rather strange incident, a resident of Shipra Srishti, a society in Indirapuram, has been accused of unleashing her pet dog on society residents. Speaking to City Spidey, residents said the incident took place around 8.30 am on April 14, when they, along with their children, were at their morning yoga session in the society park.

“She came into the park and let one of her two pet dogs loose," said a resident who did not wish to be named. "This left residents and children terrified."

Another resident, on the condition of anonimity, said after much effort, one of the residents managed to grab the dog's leash. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

After the incident, the angry residents reached the Indirapuram police station, demanding action against the pet owner. Priyanka Rana, a resident of Aditya Mega City who was has been campaigning against stray-dog menace in Ghaziabad, was present with Shipra Srishti residents. Rana told City Spidey that pet owners cannot act irresponsibly. "They must also understand that not all people are comfortable around dogs. Let alone children, even adults can be terrified by a pup,” added Rana.

Although the accused pet owner could not be contacted, Sumedha Iyer, president of People For Animals (PFA), who was aware of the incident, told City Spidey that the incident was pre-planned and the dogs were startled by some residents. “Due to this, the dog escaped from the resident's grip and started running around the park. It was not even an adult dog, just a 6-month-old indie pup. Residents have made the owner's life hell for nothing. She and her husband face daily harassment and her vehicles are also checked by guards as if she is a wanted criminal. We are also planning to take action against this,” Iyer added.

Police officials of the Indirapuram police station told City Spidey that an FIR had been registered in this regard and that action would be taken after proper investigation.

Meanwhile, residents have planned to meet Sunil Sharma, MLA of Sahibabad, about the issue.
