Ghaziabad Police is all set to launch a WhatsApp group that will enable the public to notify officials higher up in the department in case an officer refuses to cooperate. The group will include police station staff, station officers and the top brass, including the Superintendent of Police (SP).
Junior officials acting on the public's complaints will be answerable to their seniors for a swift resolution.
The WhatsApp group is the brainchild of SP (Rural Area) RK Pandey. Senior officials frequently received complaints from the public about police inaction and harassment in the case of filing grievances. Hopefully, the new group will make the lodging of FIRs hassle-free.
