Meet the new CEO of Noida and GreNo authorities
Amit Mohan Prasad, an IAS of the 1989 batch, has taken charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of both Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority. On April 13, his first day as CEO, Prasad took stock of the problems being faced by residents of the twin cities and promised them that he would try to solve them soon.

According to Prasad, the three biggest problems that Noida faces are parking, encroachment and traffic. Another major issue, he says, is the problem faced by homebuyers, as there are more than 100 projects where the builder has taken buyer money but failed to deliver flats.

Prasad has also reviewed the reason for delay in construction of the city's incomplete projects such as the Yamuna bridge, the NTPC and the Sector 61 underpasses, and the multilevel car parking in Sector 18 and Botanical Gardens.

He said the Authority would be introducing a special, reliable cell for buyers, where they could get correct information about any new or upcoming project in Noida or Greater Noida. This would include information on whether the land had been sanctioned by the authorities, what land-use laws had been passed and how many towers or floors the builder had been permitted to construct. Any buyer who applied for information at this special cell would get details within a stipulated time period.

Shishir Singh, ACEO of Noida Authority, told City Spidey that the new CEO had directed everyone to focus on the problems of homebuyers. "The CEO has also stressed the importance of building a new image for the city, one without corruption," he added.
