Shortage of electrical components with Noida Authority has become the cause of a nuisance at Express View Apartments (Super MIG), a residential society in Sector 93. Residents say about 100 lights have been lying defunct in the society for the last few weeks.

Sujeet Kumar Pandey, RWA president, told City Spidey, “Residents have lodged several complaints with the grievance cell of Noida Authority, but no effect. Officers have also visited the society many times but nothing has been done so far.”

Pandey complained that the Authority’s staff come to repair the lights but return without completing the job. “The make all sorts of excuses, including those of shortage of electric components at Authority’s store. I wonder how long they’ll take to procure these components,” he said.

He said that four parks and several streets in the society were under complete darkness after dusk. “Due to soaring temperatures, residents want to relax in parks but cannot do so because of insufficient lighting,” he added.

When City Spidey spoke to SK Gupta, project engineer with Noida Authority, he said, “We are making efforts to solve the problem. The file for procuring electrical components has been forwarded for tendering. The problem should be sorted out soon.”
