Buyers of Unitech Escape in Sector 50, Gurgaon, were hoping for the best of facilities. But even after three years of possession, the builder has not been able to provide the residents with even a swimming pool.
And why’s that? The contractors, who had begun work on the 23X60-ft structure, left after non-payment of dues. So now it lies without tile work and without water!
“We shifted in the condominium going by the quality image of Unitech and what we see is very different," says Manashi Roy, a member of the RWA. "The swimming pool, for instance, has been lying like this for more than 2 years. The cement structure is nowhere near completion. Now the work has been completely stopped. Though in rainy season they do make sure that water does not collect here but the main concern is providing the pool that we rightfully deserve”
The tenants, too, are disappointed.
“One of the reasons for shifting to this society was having a swimming pool within the premises, but in the last two years, there has been no development,” said Ruchi Rajan, a tenant.
An official from Unitech said on condition of anonymity, “Our first priority is to complete the towers — only then can we think of completing the swimming pool. We do understand their concerns, but we have to prioritise work."
