Even nine years after its launch, work on Sushant Megapolis, in which buyers have invested Rs 15 crore, is yet to start.

Buyers demand FIR against Ansal API for GreNo project

The homebuyer association of Sushant Megapolis, a 2,500-acre project coming up in Greater Noida, lodged a complaint on April 24 with the deputy commissioner, economic offence wing of Delhi police, against Ansal API Infrastructure Limited.

After the launch of the project in 2008, about 115 buyers invested in row houses, flats, independent floors, villas and high-rise apartments in it. Their collective investment has been about Rs 15 crore. However, even nine years later, work on Megapolis is yet to start. Till date, the builder has only acquired one fifth of the plot size the project was supposed to come up on.

The complaint demands action against the builder for making false promises of a modern township with amenities of international standards. It blames the builder for selling lofty schemes just to swindle homebuyers.

Pavan Verma, president of the association, told City Spidey that they felt cheated. "We have demanded an FIR against the builder for cheating all of us,” he said. He added that the police had assured them of an inquiry into the matter and appropriate action against the builder.

Earlier, about 30 buyers staged a protest against the project promoter outside the builder's office in Kasturba Gandhi Marg in New Delhi.
