In a major reshuffle, several SHOs and police station in-charges were transferred to Gurgaon. Police commissioner Sandeep Khirwar made bulk transfers to provide more police patrolling in the city.

With this, Gurgaon will see an increase in the number of police stations from 24 to 34.

At present, there are 3,780 police personnel in the city — and 30 inspectors and SHOs were transferred to be deployed at the new police stations across the city. It is the first such shuffle made by the police commissioner after his joining.

The new police stations will be coming up at Sector 14, Bajghera, Khandsa, Pataudi road, Sector 9A, Sohna, Sector 43 and Sector 50.

Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Manish Sehgal said, “The new police stations will start operating this week, and we are looking for places to rent for the new establishments. The new police stations are to ensure safety and security of the residents who face problems with jurisdiction."
