These cars don't belong to Dwarka residents. Guess why they are parked here

Societies in Sector 12, such as Shivam Apartments, Shubham Apartments, Abhiyan Apartments and Park View Apartments, are tired of the traffic mess these are creating.

These cars don't belong to Dwarka residents. Guess why they are parked here

Vehicles parked on both sides of the road in front of Sector 12 societies in Dwarka has become a problem for residents. Residents of Shivam Apartments, Shubham Apartments, Abhiyan Apartments and Park View Apartments said there was hardly any space left for commuters, which disrupted traffic on the stretch.

They said most of the vehicles parked in the area were of those visiting VPS Rockland Hospital, adjacent to the sector's community hall and in front of Abhiyan Apartments.

“Rockland Hospital does not have a parking of its own," said Monica Verma, a resident of Abhiyan Apartments. "Visitors to the hospital have no choice but to park on the road, that too on both sides. Even the hospital's ambulances are parked on the road. It becomes an even bigger issue when the schools are open. The hospital and the authorities should do something about the problem."

Residents and RWAs of the area have been writing to the concerned agencies but there has been no solution to the problem. “As per the plan approved by DDA, this hospital does have a parking provision," said SK Goel, an RTI activist, general secretary of Dwarka Forum and a resident of Shivam Apartments. "But the hospital has not set up a parking space at all. It is fine with having cars parked along the street. I have written to DDA to look into the matter and manage the parking space. But DDA is not taking the matter seriously. The hospital management should do something about the parking issue.”

Unit head of VPS Rockland Hospital, Dwarka, Dr Jyoti Mishra, said, “Our guards work round the clock to manage the parking on the road. A separate parking arrangement, too, is in the pipeline.”
