Here’s some good news for students who want to use the Delhi Development Authority’s sports complexes in this summer vacation. The DDA has started incentive schemes for them at all of its 15 sports complexes and two golf courses located in various parts of Delhi.

According to the DDA, school students can produce their I-cards and use the sports complexes between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm at only a third of the entry fee. Students who have excelled in sports, have represented the state or played at a higher level will be permitted to use the facilities under sports excellence quota. Students can apply to the secretary of the sports complex along with the certificates of participation and awards, if any, to avail the service under this quota.

There is a 10 per cent EWS (economically weak section) quota for free sports coaching at the complexes. The candidates can apply along with their EWS certificates issued by a competent authority to the secretary of DDA sports complex for selection.

Moreover, schools in vicinity may also book sports facilities at DDA’s sports complexes between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.

Proficient sports persons can provide coaching and scholarship can be given after due approval by the vice-chairman, DDA. Students can benefit from coaching and training camps held during summer vacations.
