There were dance routines, skits and songs to sensitise people about the neurodevelopmental disorder.
Scottish High International School in Sushant Lok II, Gurgaon, organised an autism awareness drive today.
The chief guests at the event were Air Marshal Denzil Keelor and Victor R Vaz, sports director, Special Olympics Bharat.
The main objective of the programme was to spread awareness about autism. There were dance routines, skits and songs to sensitise people about the neurodevelopmental disorder.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Commander Kartikay Saini, chairman of the school, said, “Autism is a communication problem and while they want to say a lot, they are scared, hesitant and shy to speak. They are sceptical of the reactions people might have. Accept and treat them just as anyone else — they are no different.”
