ATS Advantage: Thank God no one got hurt!

ATS Advantage: Thank God no one got hurt!

A chunk of concrete came crashing down from the façade of a tower of ATS Advantage, a society in Indirapuram, today. According to sources inside the society, the chunk came off an architectural feature on the 23rd floor of Tower 7. They said the incident took place in the morning but the exact time could not be ascertained. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Last year, Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) had issued a notice to the builder of ATS Advantage following the collapse of a chunk of concrete in Tower 18 of the society, following which the developer had rectified the architectural fault.

Several residents City Spidey spoke to, however, chose to stay tight-lipped about the incident. Although the residents confirmed the incident, Kapil (surname withheld), the property manager of the society, denied it. Residents said the housekeeping staff of the society cleaned the pieces of concrete immediately after it had fallen.

Some residents, on condition of anonymity, said the matter was being swept under the rug for fear of disrepute and, in turn, a decline in property prices. However, residents also expressed their concern about the threat that such an incident posed. “Luckily, there was no one in the common area when the incident occurred. Someone could have gotten hurt,” said a resident.
