Swachh Bharat Abhiyan under way at Sector 46
Taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan forward, residents and the RWA of Sector 46, Gurgaon, are cleaning up their sector on May 6.
The parks in the area will be cleaned as well. The initiative will include removing illegal encroachment along the 18-m stretch that surrounds the sector. Residents will also clear out dry leaves.
Thirty residents and 50 cleaners are on the job.
Speaking to City Spidey, Raj Kumar Yadav, RWA president, said, “Such campaigns not only keep our society clean, but also build up social responsibility.”
RD Sharma, a resident, opined, “It has been a wonderful experience to help each other. After we finish our cleaning, the place looks beautiful. It also fosters a feeling of ownership.”
Balbir Singh Lochab, another resident, added, “If your RWA is helpful and hardworking, you, too, are transferred that positive energy. After all, the colony is ours too.”
