The high-tension electricity panel that supplies power to the society shorted out around 1 am last night, leaving residents sleepless in the heat.
Residents of Divine meadows, a society in Sector 108, Noida, have been living in darkness since last night.
The high-tension electricity panel that supplies power to the society shorted out about 1 am on May 9, after which the society's power supply was disrupted.
Dhiraj Kumar, a resident of the society, told City Spidey they had been facing issues with the power supply for the past two years. "The builder had committed to installing three diesel generator [DG] sets for power back-up, but only one has been installed till date. That, too, has not been functioning properly for the past one month," he added.
Residents also complained that the electricity panel boxes across the society were left open, leaving naked wires open in some locations. Despite lodging numerous complaints with the builder and the society's maintenance office, there has been no change in the scenario.
When City Spidey spoke to Amit Maharshi, the estate manager of Divine Meadows, he said the maintenance team had started conducting repair work on the high-tension panel and power would be back by evening. "Orders for two new DG sets have already been placed and these will be installed soon," Amit added.
