Nineteen years ago, when a Noida-based couple named their daughter Srishti, little did they know she would take it literally and go on to add the title "Universe" to her name when she grew up. Yes, we are talking about Srishti Kaur, Miss Teen Universe 2017 — and a Noida Sector 71 resident.
The only Indian to have won the title, Kaur hadn't even in her wildest dreams thought she would someday be known worldwide as a beauty queen. Yes, with both her parents in the export business closely linked with Zara and H&M, she did grow up around fashion, make-up and modelling, she never thought it would become such a defining moment in her life.
She chose to take designing as a career and landed up in London School of Fashion. But how was the journey from a designing student to the winner of a global beauty pageant?
