A six-month-old pet dog that had gone missing on the evening of May 7 from a shopping centre in Sector 49, Gurgaon, was found by two girls, who are residents of South City II on May 9. However, the girls have refused to accept the cash reward of Rs 2 lakh from the dog’s owners.

The owners of Rexy, the dog, are Venus Green and Rick Green, an Australian couple, who are residents Gurgaon. They had posted pictures of Rexy on social media and also in various parts of the city, promising a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh to the person who would find their pet.

The Greens reunited with their pet after a call from one of the girls. Rick Green told City Spidey, “The girl told me that she spotted Rexy at the B Block market when she had taken her dog out for a walk."

The couple will try to convince the girls on May 10 to accept the reward. “I have never seen such beautiful people. If their mother refuses to accept the reward, my wife would donate the money to charity.”

“Rexy was out on the streets without any food or water. We thank everybody for their concern in the matter,” said Venus Green.

They had adopted Rexy in April this year from a dog shelter in Select Citywalk mall in Saket. The couple has another dog but Venus wanted to adopted a stray dog too.
