Divine Meadows residents: 'It's not just power failure, it's a host of issues'

Residents of Divine Meadows, in Sector 108, Noida, staged a protest in front of society project director Rajeev Sharma's house in Sector 19 today.

Residents complained that there had been no electricity for the past two nights and that no one from the builder's side had lifted a finger to solve the problem.

Residents told City Spidey that they had not had a wink of sleep, since neither air-conditioners, nor fans were working. As a result of the power failure, there was a problem with the water supply too and even the elevators were not working. Some residents were taking the stairs to reach their 17th-floor flats. People had also been unable to send their children to school.

Dhiraj Kumar, a resident of the society, told City Spidey that the high-tension electricity panel that supplied power to the society shorted out about 1 am on May 9, after which the society's power supply remained disrupted.

Residents also said the society lacked a firefighting system and that the builder was yet to take the completion and the occupancy certificates from Noida Authority. Hence, the registry of flats was also pending.
