An official says, in a first, the Authority has recorded high water supply of over 80 MGD and that there is enough water to cater to the city.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has repaired the water pipeline that was repeatedly ruptured in the recent past affecting Gurgaon’s water supply.
Naresh Pawar, superintending engineer, HUDA, told City Spidey, “We have repaired eight leakages that occurred due to negligence during digging and widening work on roads across the city.”
“In the last four days, from May 6 to May 9, HUDA supplied between 82 MGD to 87 MGD of water. It was also for the first time that HUDA recorded water supply over 80 MGD. This is an indicator of the success of the supply system. We have enough water to supply to the city,” he added
However, water crisis in some HUDA sectors and private localities continues to worry residents. Speaking to City Spidey, Juliet Arora, a resident of Block C, Sushant Lok, said, “In our lane, there are nearly 20 houses and we have not got uninterrupted water supply for even five minutes a day for past one month. We rely on private tankers, which are costly and range from Rs 800 to Rs 1,000.”
HUDA supplies treated water to Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) for sectors, municipal localities and villages. It also supplies water to Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (HSIIDC) and private colonies from its two water treatment plants — Chandu Budhera and Basai water treatment plants.
