Let these Dwarka kids teach you some traffic rules...

In view of the Global Road Safety Week from May 8-14, a weeklong traffic awareness campaign is on for the children of Dwarka.

The campaign has been organised by South West District Legal Services Authority (SW-DLSA) in association with Delhi Traffic Police and various schools across the sub-city.

Secretary of SW-DLSA, Justice Jagmohan Singh, said, “The campaign aims to sensitise schoolchildren as well as the general public about road-safety norms.”

Singh also spoke to the children about the necessity of observing traffic regulations, and what constituted violations.

Students from various schools, such as NK Bagrodia, Modern Convent School, Bal Bhavan International School, Paramount School, Mount Carmel School and Government Sarvodaya Co-Ed Senior Secondary School, are participating in the campaign.

The children, with placards, are being stationed at busy intersections near their schools, along with traffic personnel.

Interacting with commuters, the children are making them aware about common road violations, such as triple riding, riding without a helmet, underage driving, red-light jumping and drunk driving.
