Allottees demand possession of GreNo plots

In a protest outside the Greater Noida Authority office, they said they would intensify the agitation if something wasn't done soon.

Allottees demand possession of GreNo plots

The allotment of plots under Greater Noida Authority’s residential scheme lies in limbo even after papers were issued to applicants five years ago.

Since the matter is in court, Greater Noida Authority (GNA) is not giving due allotment to the applicants. This despite the Authority having taken most of the money from the buyers.

Furious allottees gathered at the GNA office in Sector Gamma to demand possession of their plots, and raised slogans against the callous attitude of the Authority.

Scared by the intensity of the protest, the officials took refuge in the employee association office and assured the allottees that they would take up the matter with the Authority CEO, Deepak Aggarwal.

When City Spidey approached Aggarwal, he said that the delay in the allotment of the Sector ETA 2 plots was due to a farmers’ protest against acquisition of the land. “The court had asked us to cancel the acquisition of the land,” he said. “But we have managed to get about five acres, and soon we’ll be able to give possession to at least a few allottees.”

Ramesh, an allottee from Sector ETA 2, told City Spidey that they would keep protesting till the Authority gave them possession of the plots.

Ilam Singh Nagar, president of the Federation of Greater Noida RWAs (FOGRWA), said, “It’s been five years that the Authority allotted us plots. We are fighting for our rights. If officials don’t do something now, we’ll be left with no choice but to block roads and intensify the agitation.”
