Sohna Road, Gurgaon: Is this a service lane or parking space?

Sohna Road is home to several posh offices and malls on both sides, and visitors often park their cars on the service lanes for hours, leaving little space for movement.

Sohna Road, Gurgaon: Is this a service lane or parking space? Cars parked haphazardly on the Sohna Road service lane

The service lanes on Gurgaon’s Sohna Road, which has several posh offices and malls on both sides, are choked with haphazardly parked cars, making movement difficult for commuters and visitors to the malls.

The cars remain parked for several hours on the service lanes. These cars mostly belong to people who own shops in the area or have offices there.

A resident of Uppal's Southend, Sanjib Banerji, complained, “There are several shops selling car accessories along the service lane, and people often leave their cars here for hours without thinking twice about the consequences. They don’t realise how inconvenient it is for others to drive in these car-packed lanes.”

In addition to cars, there are also parked autos.

Auto driver Suresh Kumar explained while defending himself, “We have no place to wait but these lanes. The people who park their cars here should not be leaving them for hours like this. The traffic police, too, doesn’t bother to tow away such vehicles."

DCP (traffic) Balbir Singh told City Spidey, “The issue the residents and commuters are facing will be promptly dealt with, and we will provide a solution as soon as possible. We are always open to feedback from residents to improve the city’s traffic condition.”
