Gurgaon: Are you a 'Swacch Sector' yet?

Following in the footsteps of Sector 46, residents of Sectors 38, too, have decided to take up the cleaning of their sector. About 50 workers and 35 residents participated in the drive today.

The concept of “Swacch Sector” seems to be picking up pace, and more and more residents are joining the drive. Sector 56, too, made similar attempts to clean up their sector with 35 MCG sweepers — though not for the first time.

“This is our sixth week and the drive has been gaining momentum with more and more residents pitching in. The campaign has also improved team participation,” said Sudhir Bhardwaj, RWA president of Sector 56.

“Our efforts will encourage residents to come forward and take part in this campaign. We must all strive together to clean our surroundings,” added Gurpreet Chadha, the sector’s RWA secretary.

But for Sector 38, this was the first step towards a cleaner society.

Encroachments were also removed during the drive at Sector 38

Speaking to City Spidey, Naresh Bhardwaj, a resident of Sector 38, said, “Sector 46 has been doing some amazing work. I started joining them in various abhiyans. In fact, I am inspired by the way they have cleaned up their sector park.”

Sector 46 RWA, too, pitched in.

“It’s good to be able to help other sectors. We all stay in this one city and we all need healthy living conditions, right?” opined Raj Kumar Yadav, RWA president of Sector 48.

Brig JS Yadav said, “Everybody likes to live in a clean colony. If the authorities don’t care to look into these aspects, we residents then must come forward. We needed a start — and now we will continue with our efforts.”
