Despite sufficient water supply from the main tank, more than 54 condominiums of the area suffer from acute water crisis. Around 580 families residing in the area have to depend on tankers to fulfil their needs, bearing heavily on their pockets.
Residents allege that the crisis is the result of the sector's transfer to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG). There’s lack of technical expertise to manage the water distribution, they claim. Despite regular meetings with junior engineers and executive engineer for the last four months, there has been no respite.
The situation is particularly bad for residents on higher floors.
RWA members met senior town planner of MCG yesterday and asked him to visit the area.
“Thirty per cent residents don’t get sufficient water and are dependent on tankers. We have to buy water every alternate day,” said Sarla Dhankhar, a senior citizen.
The residents have decided to protest against the authorities if the crisis continues.
“If the supply is not corrected, we’ll stage a protest at Mini Secretariat next week,” said Sudhir Bhardwaj, RWA president.
"All measures will be taken to ensure regular water supply in the city," assured Yashpal Yadav, HUDA administrator.
