Meet the NCR toppers!

As the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared the results for both Class XII (ISC) and Class X (ICSE), Scottish International High School and The Shri Ram School, both in Gurgaon, stole the limelight by grabbing the top positions for Class XII results.

A total of 1,75,299 students appeared for ICSE exams this year and 98.53 per cent students passed. As for the ISC exams, a total of 73,633 students took the exams, and 96.47 per cent passed.

In Science, students of Scottish International High School, Keerthana Srikanth (99.25 per cent) topped the NCR, while Shivang Singh (98.75 per cent) bagged the second position. The third position went to Shri Ram School’s Aditi Pasricha, who scored 98.25 per cent in Humanities.

Srikanth also happens to have scored the second-highest marks in all of India.

“I was confident of my performance during the pre-boards," Srikanth, a resident of Sector 57, said. "But I had never imagined that I would be a topper. Now that I have secured these marks, there's also a bit of sadness knowing I could have been the country topper if only I had scored a little more.”

Srikanth, who wants to become an engineer, followed a strict regime of five- to six-hour study sessions every day throughout the year. "My school and my parents have been a constant support to me," she said.

Speaking to City Spidey, Shivang Singh said, “I cannot believe it! It has come as a big surprise to me.”

On the other hand, Singh, a resident of Vatika City on Sohna Road, said that towards the end of his preparations, he started putting in 12 to 13 hours of study time every day.

Aditi Pasricha could not be contacted, as she is travelling. However, City Spidey caught up with her mother, Suparna Pasricha.

"We are, of course, very happy with her marks," she said. "Aditi has always been a meritorious student. She topped Class XI as well; and now she has already got admission in Srishti Institute of  Art, Design and Technology in Bengaluru."

Aditi Pasricha from Shri Ram School scored 98.25 per cent in Humanities and scored the third-highest ISC marks in the NCR

The highest scorers in the ICSE exams were Shri Ram School's Srinwanti Debgupta (97.8 per cent), Gopika Arora and Smiti Mittal (both with 97.6 per cent); and Scottish High International's Mehak Mishra (97.6 per cent).

Last year, Adya Joshi and Prithvir Bhalla, both students of The Shri Ram School in Gurgaon, had secured the top positions in Class XII across the NCR, with 99 per cent.
