South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) organised a tree-planting drive at a park in Sector 7 to mark World Environment Day. The SDMC officials acknowledged the efforts put in by residents of Sector 7 and Palam village at the event. Aman Kumar, sitting councilor of the area and Seema Pandit, former councillor, were present at the event. 

Residents  of the societies in plots 1 to 7 of Sector 7 and some environment enthusiasts from Palam village, such as Mahavir Solanki and Sahib Singh, were present at the drive. Their efforts to keep the area clean and green were lauded by the SDMC officials.

General secretary of Senior Citizen Association and a resident of Harsukh Apartments, Sector 7, Ravi Jaitely informed City Spidey, “People from SDMC lauded the efforts of the Morning Walkers' Club and other such environment-friendly groups in the area. When Dr Neelam Kumari, president of Kamal Vihar, heard about the tree-planting drive, she offered to supply water for it.”

 Bhagwan Singh Jamwal, the head honcho of the Morning Walkers' Club, member of the advisory board of Senior Citizens Association of Dwarka, and former president of Harsukh Apartments were also present at the event.
