We need more Ganpati Apts and FORWAS for the sake of the environment

They don't need an occasion to plant saplings and adopt plants. But when there's an occasion, you bet they give it their best!

We need more Ganpati Apts and FORWAS for the sake of the environment

The Federation of RWAs of Sector 9 (FORWAS) and Ganpati Apartments in Sector 9, Dwarka, and organised tree-planting drive on the occasion of World Environment Day. WHile FORWAS carried out the drive at the sector's DDA park, people at Ganpati planted saplings inside the society's premises.

"We planted about 20-30 saplings at the society and DDA park 3," said Advocate KS Bhati, president of Ganpati Apartments managing committee and FORWAS. "We made sure that as many children as possible were part of the drive, as they need to understand the importance of nature."

TP Singh, secretary of the society, and other residents of the society such as SC Shukla and Kusum Singh were present at the drive. Virender Chopra, the garden in-charge of the society, was arranging the saplings.

"Adopting plants is a tradition started by FORWAS," said RP Gupta, senior secretary of FORWAS and a resident of Sri Radha Apartments. "What better way to spend the World Environment Day than a bunch of people coming together and pledging to take care of plants."
