Nirala Eden Park residents plagued by problems from PGs

AOA members of Nirala Eden Park, a residential society in Indirapuram, met members of FedAOA over several issues faced by the residents of the society. Residents said one of the main problems faced by the residents is the paying guest accommodations. AOA members said the situation was especially challenging as it was difficult to keep track of these accommodations.

Speaking to City Spidey, Kavita Mathur, president of Nirala Eden Park AOA, said that in certain cases the owners have signed rent agreements with over seven to eight people, which has made it difficult to declare these as PG accommodations.

The PGs are especially problematic for the residential society as Mathur says that firstly, they are noisy, secondly, they increase the per flat consumption water and the society's parking space and thirdly, it makes it difficult for security to keep track of the people coming and going from the PGs. Mathur further said that in a board meeting, the AOA had decided against renting flats to bachelors keeping in mind the welfare of residents.

"Although, some flat owners agreed, many others refused. Some of the flats are also running complete commercial kitchens which supply packaged food. These have become very problematic for the residential society of over 400 flats. Who will be responsible in case of any untoward incident?" Mathur questioned.

Ravindra Saini, general secretary of FedAOA told City Spidey that the society had been suffering from the problem for quite some time. "We from the federation have asked the AOA members to write to the Ghaziabad Development Authority over the issue," Saini added.

Other issues such as rainwater harvesting, upgrading of the society's firefighting system were also discussed in the meeting. Meanwhile the society's AOA has decided to approach (Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) with the issue. They will soon approach GDA with a formal complaint along with a list of flats involved in such accommodations.
