Residents of Grand Ajnara Heritage, a residential society in Sector 74, Noida, have been grappling with foul smell coming from a park, where the maintenance staff of Supertech Capetown, another residential society in the sector, has been discharging the society’s sewage water. The park is situated between the both societies and belongs to Noida Authority.

Dhananjay Kumar, a resident of Grand Ajnara Heritage, told City Spidey that the maintenance team of Supertech Capetown has been doing this for the last two months. “About three months ago, residents of both societies met Omvir Singh, director of horticulture, to develop the park but the Authority did nothing. Now, Supertech Capetown staff is using the park as a dumping yard for sewage waste,” he added.

Residents of Supertech Capetown said that the developer had not taken the sewage connection from Noida Authority and sewage treatment plant (STP) was also not functional. They have also raised this issue with Noida Authority officials in a tri-party meeting held last month. Noida Authority has given time of two months to the developer for taking the sewage connection and has also asked the builder to start the STP soon.

Singh told City Spidey that he knew about the matter and would issue a letter to Supertech Group regarding the issue within the next two days.

Speaking about the development of the park, he said that the estimate for the development of this park was ready and has been sent for approval. “I think within three months, the work for the development of the park will begin,” he added.
