After the electrocution of a constable, this Noida resident did not sit quiet

Two days after a 28-year-old UP police constable Anuj Batar lost his life after accidentally stepping on a live wire in a Greater Noida park, a vigilant resident of Noida lodged a complaint with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today on his Twitter account.

Amit Gupta, the complainant, alleged that sheer negligence on the part of concerned officers of UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), responsible for fixing open and damaged electric panel boxes in the park, led to the untoward incident.

He further added that even after the death on June 11, the authorities remained in deep slumber.

The panel boxes of the park, close to Century Apartments in Sector 100, have been in a dangerous condition since last year, but the authorities couldn’t care less. He complained, "The officers are waiting for similar incidents to take place, as they are not initiating action to repair the panel boxes."

Pawan Sharma, another resident living close to the park, said he had lodged a complaint with UPPCL a year ago and had followed up with them too, but his efforts had borne no fruit. Nobody had taken the complaints seriously, he said.
