Clue: It's not something they are proud of.
Residents of Paramount Floraville, in Sector 137, Noida, wrote to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today, urging him to look into the matter of Ganga jal supply.
A copy of the letter has been forwarded to Amit Mohan Prasad, Noida Authority CEO.
The letter said that for the past year more than 300 families have been living in the society and that all of them had been forced to consume groundwater with high levels of TDS (total dissolved solids).
It further said that Noida Authority was yet to supply potable water to them.
Complainant Manoj Kumar Srivastava — who moved into the society last year — had apprised Parth Sarthi Sen Sharma, secretary to the former CM, of the situation. However, no action had been taken.
Srivastava said, “The developer has failed to make arrangements for water supply — and yet it started giving possession to buyers a year ago. The complex still doesn’t have a connection from Noida Authority, which supplies a mix of Ganga jal and rainwater. We have thus been drinking groundwater since we shifted in.”
He added, “We have been deprived of this basic need, when all other societies in the sector have been provided this facility. It will be a great relief for us if Noida Authority is directed to supply clean water to us too.”
