Kudos to Gurgaon's teamwork!

In a cleaning drive today in Sushant Lok II and III, not only residents of their own blocks but also those of Sector 46 turned up. And this is not a stray case.

Kudos to Gurgaon's teamwork!

The power of teamwork is hardly ever as appreciated as it should be. But Gurgaon believes that’s the way a community should function. RWAs and residents across sectors are pitching in to make the city a cleaner place.

For example, the cleanliness drive that lasted from 8 am to 2 pm today to clean Sushant Lok II and III had residents not only from blocks D, E, F and G, but also 20 residents from Sector 46, and 60 sweepers.

Taking forward the mission of “Swachh Sector Abhiyan”, the RWA of Sector 46 stepped in.

Sector 46 has, in fact, been helping a lot of other sectors in Gurgaon in their cleaning drives. They recently helped sectors 38 and 56 in their cleanliness drives.

“We are extending our support for a good cause and we will continue to do so,” said Raj Kumar Yadav, president of the Sector 46 RWA. “Our work should not be limited to our sector. We should look at the bigger picture. Whenever my help is required, I promise to be there. Let us all work in harmony to make our city a cleaner and a better place to live in.”

Said SM Arora, general secretary of the Sushant Lok II and III RWA, “Since the builder has no intention of cleaning our sector, we reached out to Sector 46, and they readily agreed to help us. We cannot afford to neglect cleanliness and used our funds to pay the sweepers.”

Both the RWAs feel that if there is unity among all the other resident bodies, the authorities will have to take action.

However, even if they don’t, residents feel it is their responsibility to take care of their neighbourhoods. “It is, after all, us who have to stay there, not anyone else,” said Arora.
