Former secretary of Gaur Grandeur management allegedly assaulted

A few residents of Gaur Grandeur, a residential society in Sector 119, Noida, allegedly assaulted Deepankar Bagchi, former secretary of the society management, on late  Friday night.

As per Bagchi, who returned to the society yesterday after a trip to Haridwar, he was taking a walk in the society when he was assaulted by three men. The attackers pinned him down on the ground  and punched on his face, causing multiple injuries.

The victim has lodged a complaint at the Phase III police station against Abhay Singh, a resident of Gaur Grandeur, and two of his accomplices, who are not from the society. However, the matter was sorted out as Bagchi withdrew his complaint.

Zaheer Khan, station house officer with the Phase III Police Station, said both parties had agreed to settle the matter mutually. The cause of the assault is said to be an old rift between the two parties.

City Spidey contacted Rajesh Gupta, president of the society's management, but he refused to comment on the issue saying he was out of station. He said, “I had received information about the assault but don’t have any further details. I will only be able to comment once I return."
