The Cyber Cell of Noida Police has arrested three people who allegedly used to con people in the name of lottery, claiming to be employees of HomeShop 18, a popular online shopping company.

According to police, Ashish Vaid, an employee of the company, lodged a complaint at the Sector 20 police station of Noida. On the basis of the complaint, the police started investigating matter and arrested the three people.

Arun Kumar Singh, SP of Noida, told City Spidey that a team of the Cyber Cell, led by Vivek Ranjan Rai, raided a location in Raja Garden, West Delhi, and nabbed the accused, who were identified as Rahul Singhania, Raj Kumar and Tejpal Singh.

Three hard discs, 28 mobile phones, 77 SIM cards, 15 debit and credit cards, two PAN cards, one identity card and two driving licenses were recovered from them, he said.

The modus operandi of the accused was to collect data from the company's staff by paying them and then contacting the customers claiming they had won a "lucky draw".

They further motivated innocent people to buy goods worth Rs 4,000 to get assured gifts. In the name of courier charges and security money, they used to collected money from unsuspecting people and then they fled, the SP said.
