A footpath caved into a drain recently near RD Apartments and Mayank Apartments in Sector 6, Dwarka. The incident happened a couple of weeks ago, but the area is yet to be barricaded.
President of RD Apartments, Dinesh Mudgil, said to City Spidey, “This footpath caved in because of drilling work by some company for laying down cables. We asked those responsible to fix it, but they just left. Now it’s an open invite for accidents. A mishap can occur any time, as there’s no barricade.”
AK Parashar, a resident of Sri Agrasen Apartments, Sector 7, said, “DDA is responsible for fixing the damaged footpath, but it’s not taking the matter seriously. I used to visit the area almost every day to see if the area had been barricaded, but nothing was ever done. I request DDA to take prompt action since there are many societies close by.”
When City Spidey contacted DDA chief engineer, he said, “The portion was damaged by some company doing drilling work there. We will barricade the damaged area immediately, and then continue repairs.”
