Gurgaon, time to brace yourself for rain-filled potholes

Yet again, rains have brought with them traffic snarls at important locations. Here’s a look at the stretch where DLF Golf Course connects to Sector 54 Metro station.

Gurgaon, time to brace yourself for rain-filled potholes

As with every year, this year too, the rains have brought with them traffic snarls at important locations across Gurgaon.

One such bottleneck is the 500-m stretch on the Golf Course Road, where DLF Golf Course connects to Sector 54 Metro station. Riddled with potholes, it takes almost half an hour to negotiate the stretch.

“My office is in Cyber City and I am a resident of Sector 67. For me, crossing this spot is the low point of the day. The potholes damage cars and the road is full of muck now,” complained Devesh Jain.

There’s work happening on this stretch for another underpass.

“Just one shower and this place get blocked! For two-wheelers, it’s a particularly dangerous distance. I travel on bike, and the rain-filled potholes are often difficult to spot. Plus, the bike can easily skid in the slush,” said Rohit Malhotra, a resident of Sector 56

Here’s what road safety officer Raj Kumar Yadav had to say: “We try our best to regulate traffic here, but until this underpass opens, the problem is expected to persist.”
