2 more gyms opened in Noida parks

Noida has caught the fitness bug and it has begun developing gyms in parks located in residential colonies. The decision follows the success of the three gyms it opened last year.

2 more gyms opened in Noida parks

There is good news for all you fitness lovers in Noida. Now, you have two more parks with gyms owned and operated by Noida Authority.

The gyms were thrown open for fitness enthusiasts on Saturday in two parks in Noida. The two gyms are in C-block park of Sector 33 and B block park of Sector 35.

“The gyms are equipped with air walkers, sit-up benches, air swings, stair steppers, leg presses, pull-up chairs, exercise bars, chest presses, bench presses, sit-up stations, cross-walkers, twister, rowing machines, etc. All machines are tamper- and weather-proof and are clamped onto concrete slabs across rubberized tiles, making it impossible to move them manually,” a senior Noida Authority official said. Noida MLA Pankaj Singh inaugurated the gyms in the presence of Noida Authority CEO Amit Mohan Prasad and Omvir Singh, director horticulture and several senior Noida officials. Pankaj Singh exhorted the citizens to commit to creating a clean environment.

Pankaj Singh told City Spidey, “It is a good initiative to open the gym in public parks. Youngsters are aware of the fitness and many work out to shape their bodies. These gyms will help more people to come out and work out in the parks.”

Pankaj Singh said he will try and open similar gyms in villages near Noida too.

Omvir Singh, director of horticulture, told City Spidey that two more gyms were in the pipeline. “We will also inaugurate two more open gym in sectors 34 and 39 by tomorrow and more gym in across the city will open soon,” he said.

The expansion of gyms follows the success of Noida and its three gyms started last year. Now, Noida has plans to open 27 open gyms across the city of which five are operational now.
