Vinay Pratap Singh, a 2011 batch IAS officer was elected the new Deputy Commissioner for Gurgaon, after the Haryana government reshuffled 22 IAS and 12 HCS officers on Monday night.

The earlier DC, Hardeep singh, was quite popular among residents with his dedication to work and now the task lies upon the new DC to face the challenges posed by the city

Speaking about the road ahead, he emphasised how the ever-growing population of the city has put immense pressure on the infrastructural requirements. “My focus will be on ensuring better connectivity and of course ensuring law and order in the city,” said Singh.

He further added, “We have to focus on going digital and getting rid of the paperwork as much as possible. The Gurgaon administration would like to work in close coordination with young people who are buzzing with new ideas and energy.”

Nilesh Tandon, the RWA president of a society, said, “The previous DC was a calm and hardworking person and now hopes are pinned with this young man who seems self motivated in his approach.”
