Dwarka: Yes, this 'safety' ribbon will ensure no one falls into this gaping hole

Wow, DDA.

Dwarka: Yes, this 'safety' ribbon will ensure no one falls into this gaping hole

You will be surprised at the "precaution" DDA has taken to prevent mishaps on the footpath that caved in near RD Apartments and Mayank Apartments in Sector 6, Dwarka.

A large gap in the footpath has been cordoned off by a flimsy safety ribbon on one side — and a branch on the other.

"I fail to understand what good a safety ribbon is," said Dinesh Mudgil, president of the RD Apartments managing committee. "They should have placed something heavy, such as concrete barricades or some other form of a proper barricade, to ensure safety."

When questioned about the inadequate arrangement, SN Singh, chief engineer, DDA, said, "Barricading it properly will require the work to be awarded to a contractor, and that takes time. We have placed some safety ribbons for the time being."
