Learning has never been such great fun for the children of Sector 39, Noida, and its adjoining sectors. On Thursday, they were treated to a fun-filled learning experience in the form of a quiz competition.

The competition had three segments – Individual, Buzzer and Team round. Every correct answer fetched the participants a point tickets. While the highest number of tickets determined the winner, losers did not need lose heart as each of them was given a certificate of participation and a consolation prize. 

Named Brain Box Quiz, the competition was exclusively organised for 8 to 9 years age group. Most of the participants were Class III students from schools like Lotus Valley, Gyanshri and Step By Step.

Aim of the quiz was enhancement of the children’s Intelligence Quotient (IQ) level and general awareness. It covered mathematics, science, Hindi, vocabulary, general awareness etc.

All the participants were treated to a lavish refreshment at the end of the competition.

Sonia Munjral, a teacher from Sector 39, was instrumental in organising the event. She was quiz coordinator at the event.

Speaking to City Spidey, Munjral said such competitions help bolster the interest of children in learning.

“These days, children are generally glued to TV screen or cell phones for entertainment. Such quiz competitions are a pleasant departure that go a long way in motivating them to concentrate on studies,” she elaborated.

Rajesh Gupta, father of one of the participants, praised the quiz as a very good platform to showcase general knowledge and intelligence of the children.
