Dwarka chief engineer meets FORWAS this time

After missing a schedule appointment, chief engineer (CE) of DDA, Dwarka, assured FORWAS — or the Federation of RWA of Sector 9 — of prompt action on existing problems in the sector in a meeting yesterday.

The delegation met the chief engineer, SN Singh, at his office in Manglapuri.

FORWAS president, advocate KS Bhati, said, “We went to him with problems regarding parks, community centre, roads and the issue of encroachment on vacant lands. But he said parks now belong to the horticulture department. We didn't know about this. Anyways, we asked him to repair the internal roads and curb the use of heavy and commercial vehicles in service lanes and internal roads of the sector.”

The management of the sector’s community hall also figured in the discussions.

"Our members could help the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in the management of the community centre. We want that the community hall to look well-managed. The CE said he will look into the technicalities and get back," said FORWAS general secretary, MK Singh.

On the subject of commercial vehicles plying on internal roads, the CE said he would inform the traffic police, but also asked the FORWAS to meet the department officials

The process of tendering for road repair and other civil work in the area is also under way, confirmed the CE.
