Armaan's absence: A void in the family

While Armaan's family was moving from pillar to post to get justice, there was an uneasy vacuum brewing at a parallel world, their home. Although the relatives and family members were grieving, the worst affected was Ahaan, Armaan's younger sibling. The four-year-old has not yet coped up with the sudden absence of his younger brother. The family had shifted to their Supertech Residency flat in June this year. The first thing that the new flat saw was renovation of the kid's room, shared by both of Swati Sehgal's sons.

Swati, the grieving mother, is now faced with a new crisis, how to help Ahaan deal with his brother's absence. "I will hide away all of Armaan's belongings. I will hide away his toys his art and colour books, all of it so that it does not remind Ahaan," Swati said.

Armaan was also his grandparents' first grandson.

Telling us about the relation between the brothers, Swati said Armaan was more of a guardian and a caretaker. "He used to take care of his younger brother just like we do," Sehgal added.

Armaan was set to receive a Play Station gaming console for his upcoming birthday on September 16. "The kid's room was decorated according to his wishes. Armaan always wished that his room would have a Play Station. We promised him that he would get one once the unit tests were over. But his wish and our gift remained undelivered," the mother said. The kid's passport was also prepared and preparations were on to visit Disneyland, a long standing dream which also was to be fulfilled soon. "All of these things are etched firmly in our memory and will be fulfilled. But I won't give an easy let off to the school authorities who separated Armaan from us forever," Swati said.
