An Independence Day dedicated to the underprivileged

Mission Learning Foundation, a Gurgaon-based charitable trust that carries out activities in several cities from across the country, has decided to conduct a donation drive for the underprivileged. The drive will take place in Noida and Gurgaon.

The foundation, which has been tirelessly working for the betterment of children from the economically weaker sections of the society, recently run a week-long drive in which residents of several societies across the NCR donated reusable clothes, toys, and footwear.

Gaurav Srinivas, an IT professional who is a regular volunteer with the trust, said that as the underprivileged seldom celebrated Independence Day with flag hoisting and sweet-distribution, they would try to create a similar ambience for them tomorrow.

He said they had received an overwhelming response from residents of Mahagun Moderne, Sethi Max Royal, and Antriksh Golf in of Noida. "The donation boxes in these societies came back the heaviest," said Srinivas.

Srinivas said the foundation aims at helping underprivileged children become financially independent. “We have learning centers where children are educated so that they are capable individuals who earn for themselves in the future."
