Day 16: GD Goenka Indirapuram reopens as if nothing happened

GD Goenka Public School, Indirapuram, reopened today after 16 long days.

The school had an almost 90 per cent attendance in most of the classes. Classes were conducted as usual, with no mention of the incident or any remembrance of Armaan Sehgal, the 10-year-old who lost his life under mysterious circumstances on the school premises on August 1.

The school functioned as usual, but under the vigil of police officials stationed outside and inside the school gates

On the condition of anonymity, a few parents of students in primary classes informed City Spidey that most of the classes now have two cameras installed. Children informed parents that all classes were under constant monitoring and that students were given strict instructions not to run in corridors or to push each other. Even during dispersal time, they were sent out of class one by one and not in crowds, as was usually the case earlier.

Children mentioned some sort of video shoot happening in and around the classes as well.

The school issued two messages on August 13 and August 14 to inform parents that the school was tightening security measures, that new cameras had been installed and that any parent who had concerns could directly contact the school.
