Will CM-decreed Samadhan Divas bear results? Samadhan Divas in progress at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra

Following CM Yogi Adityanath’s orders, Noida Authority held its first Samadhan Divas — a public hearing day — at Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra today.

Samadhan Divas is to be held every month on a Wednesday.

Seventy complaints were received today, including traffic issues, delay in possession, water and sewerage problems and a host of other issues.

It also came to light that Noida Authority had failed to convene tripartite meetings for certain housing projects, despite repeated requests from buyers.

Ashok Anand, had booked a flat in AVS Orchard, an under-construction housing project in Sector 77, Noida, in 2010. He complained that he has been running from pillar to post for a joint meeting with the developer, buyers and Authority officials since April 2017. But the Authority is yet to fix a schedule for the same.

He added, “I had met with concerned officers several time in the past four months, but they have not given a date for the meeting.”

The builder had to develop 12 residential towers. Though work has begun, for several towers even the foundation has not been laid.

Venting his frustration, Anand added, “I have been staying in a rented house in Sector 12 for the last seven years, I still don’t know when the project will be completed. But the officers are also not taking us seriously.”

Another important issue came to the fore during the hearing.

The authority had, on grounds of compassion, promised 5 per cent of the plot to farmers from whom land had been acquired. But the Authority is yet to do so.

Responding to the farmers’ complaints, RK Mishra, additional CEO, said, “This issue is complicated and all concerned departments will have to sit together to reach a solution. We assure you the problems will be solved within a stipulated time frame.”

The Authority registered all complaints and passed on strict instructions to all officers from different departments to get down to solving them.

Additional CEO Atal Kumar Rai assured, “Within a period of 15 days, the officers will need to solve the problems, and will have to a submit detailed report of the issues. In the next meeting, they will be asked how many of the total registered complaints can be solved in reality.”
