Homebuyers organise candle march against Amrapali

Homebuyers of reality giant Amrapali Group on Saturday organised a candle march from APJ Public School in Sector 16A to Film City in Noida demanding the builder to meet them and resolve their issues.

They have already been on an indefinite hunger strike outside the builder's corporate office in Sector 62 for the past seven days. Another group of homebuyers joined them outside the office and performed a havan today. They said they were praying for a divine intervention as they don’t have any hopes of getting possession of their homes in the near future.

As in the past, the builder has agreed to meet the buyers' representatives this time as well. However, homebuyers are not ready to agree to that and want the builder's representatives to come meet all the homebuyers.

“The builder needs to come down to meet all the people who are taking part in the hunger strike," said KK Kaushal, a protesting buyer. "The builder will have to make a commitment in front of all the homebuyers sitting outside its corporate office. But the builder is not ready to do that."

Homebuyers have now been drafting a list of demands to be handed over to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Minister of Industrial Development (UP) Satish Mahana, requesting their intervention. Buyers said the government should pass an order to arrest the chief managing director of Amrapali Group.
