Armaan investigation: ADM seeks footage and forensic report

Taking ahead the magisterial probe into the mysterious death of Armaan Sehgal, the 10-year-old student of GD Goenka Public School in Indirapuram, Rajesh Yadav, ADM (finance and revenue) asked for the DVR and CCTV footage of the school premises and also the forensic report of the incident from the police.

The incident happened on August 1 on school premises. An FIR was lodged against school officials, and the matter is now being heard in Allahabad High Court.

Parents of the child met SSP Ghaziabad and officials of the district administration today. Speaking to City Spidey, the parents expressed dissatisfaction with the way in which Ghaziabad police has been handling the investigation.

The police are still tight lipped about the entire incident and was not willing to divulge any information, the parents alleged.

However, HN Singh, SSP Ghaziabad, maintained that the investigation will soon be complete and the report will be submitted during the hearing of the case at the Allahabad High Court on August 28.

The parents, accompanied by representatives from various Ghaziabad organisations, asked the police to divulge some details about the investigation prior to the court hearing.

The meeting with the SSP was followed by another meeting with Ministhy S, district magistrate, and Rajesh Yadav, ADM, who is heading the magisterial probe. The ADM assured the parents of a fair investigation and said the magisterial probe will be independent of any other investigation of the case.

Speaking to City Spidey, Yadav said 21 individuals from the school and three relatives of Armaan and the parents have registered their statements so far, and there are no third-party statements as of now.  “I have also asked the police to submit the CCTV footage and the forensic report. The inquiry will be taken forward once I have a look at them,” he added.

“Despite running from pillar to post, we still have no clue about what had happened to our son. The police is behaving just like the school authorities — keeping us in the dark about their findings,” lashed out Sati Sehgal, Armaan’s mother.

The parents, along with several social and political leaders from Ghaziabad who had lent their support to the grieving family, threatened a sit in against the police if they failed to provide at least some details of the investigation by August 26.
