These Jaypee buyers may finally be able to move in — and soon!

Finally, there is some good news for flat buyers of the Jaypee Group, which is now mired in controversy. Thousands of flat buyers of Jaypee Wishtown in Sector 128 and Jaypee Aman in Sector 151 will soon get possession of their flats.

This announcement was made by Anup Jain today, who was appointed by National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) as the interim resolution professional on this case. Jain said these buyers had received possession letters last month from Jaypee Infratech. He also said it would take a week’s time to take permission from NCLT, after which registry or possession formalities would commence.

An official of Jaypee Infratech said that in July, Noida Authority had given the occupancy and completion certificates to five towers of Jaypee Aman and three towers of Jaypee Wishtown. After that, the developer started the process of offering possession letters to buyers.

However, this process had been disrupted when NCLT and buyers rallied against the developer on August 9.

Through a public notice, Jain informed flat buyers today that he would consider the buyer claims in accordance with the record provided by the developers.

The developer has also applied to Noida Authority for completion certificates for Jaypee Augusta Town Homes in Sector 128, and planning to make another for Jaypee Greens Kosmos in Sector 134.

An officer with the Department of Architecture and Planning in Noida Authority confirmed the receipt of these applications two days ago. He said, “The developer has sought completion certificates for 35 units of Jaypee Augusta Town Homes. We will soon schedule an inspection of the site to check whether the developer has installed proper fire-safety equipment, whether the buildings have environment clearance and whether they have approved property layouts.”

Anup Tripathi, a buyer of Jaypee Aman, told City Spidey that buyers were welcoming this decision and have demanded that the shifting and registry process be started at the earliest.
