Four more dengue cases, all children, have been confirmed in the district by the Gautam Budh Nagar health department this week. The four children are admitted in the Super Specialty Child Hospital and Post Graduate Institutein in Sector 30, Noida. The number of cases in the district is now 7.

Dr DK Singh, CMS of the hospital, told City Spidey that the youngest child is 11 months old and the oldest 11 years. The other two are 3 and 7 years old.

Anurag Bhargava, chief medical officer (CMO) of the district, said that according to the guidelines from the central health ministry, only those with symptoms such as high fever, sore throat, chest pain, breathing issues, drowsiness, low blood pressure, blood in sputum and blue nails are to be tested for the H1N1 virus and dengue.

The district hospital told City Spidey that about 80 suspected cases of dengue at the hospital were yet to be confirmed.
