The library has been developed at the initiative of Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-together (ANHLGT) with book donations from residents across the sub-city.

Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), Kamaljeet Sehrawat, inaugurated the first community library at Sector 23 Community Hall of the corporation. The library has been developed at the initiative of Association of Neighbourhood Ladies Get-together (ANHLGT), with help from residents.

The hall also has indoor sports facilities such as table tennis, carrom and chess.

President of ANHLGT, Cicily Kodiyan, said, “We are happy that finally a library has come up in the city. We are asking people for book donations.”

Residents of various societies, social organisations and RWA representatives interacted with the mayor, taking this chance to apprise her of the sanitation issues of the sub-city.

Addressing to the gathering, the mayor informed that the two big dustbins will be distributing by the SDMC from Monday to all societies in Dwarka.

She appealed to the people to adopt composting and segregation of waste at the levels of community and home. She also offered a subsidy for societies willing to purchase a composter machine.
